Sacred Valley Itinerary

Trip Duration: Week 1

The first week of this retreat runs from Saturday to Saturday. Both Saturday nights (either end) are included so it’s your choice to leave on Saturday evening or Sunday if you are only doing the 1st week.

TOTAL OF 8 NIGHTS

PLEASE NOTE: This itinerary is an outline, we reserve the right to re-order or swap in an out alternatives to maximise our possibilities and satisfaction if internal or external factors impact our trip.Trip Itinerary

Day 1 - SATURDAY

Airport pick-ups will be organised for your arrival in Cusco. You will be driven to the Sacred Valley to settle into your hotel and orientate yourself in Ollantaytambo. Take your time to recover from your flight and acclimatise.
Our retreat will officially open at 4pm with an offering to Pachamama. We will have personal introductions, intention setting and intuitive readings followed by dinner.

Day 2 - SUNDAY

We will maintain an early schedule as many of you will have body clocks in earlier time zones. Our workshops this morning will be within the hotel grounds. After lunch we will take our practise outside with two options: the local sacred mountain Pinkuylluna which is a short but steep climb and we will pass through the old town. This mountain has a beautiful energy and honours Tunupa (the god of abundance). You will enjoy a view of the Inka fortress and the whole town; Alternatively, you can visit a hidden local Inka dwelling out in the chakras (fields). This place also has it’s own special ambience, once home to a senior ranking Inka. This site enjoys a view to the river and requires no exertion.
Dinner will be early, we’ll have circle sharing outside with a bedtime ponche (local nutritious drink) before retiring early in preparation for tomorrow’s very early start.

Day 3 - MONDAY

Today we will enjoy one of the magical wonders of the world. We will leave early by train for Machu Picchu town and take the bus up to the citadel. We will be absorbing the wisdom and healing energy of this magnificent site with mystically and historically informed guides. This sacred city has various temples and was originally home to the most intuitively gifted of the Inkas. Guidance was received here that would inform the Inka civilisation in all aspects of their lives. So, we will be following their example and receiving our own inspiration. There will be 3 circuit choices to accommodate everyones enjoyment. We will have lunch in Machu Picchu town and return by train to Ollantaytambo. There will be time to rest before dinner and circle sharing at the hotel after a very powerful day.

DAY 4 - TUESDAY

Today we will visit Maras to see the glistening Salt flats that are run as a cooperative by 300+ families. Next we will visit Moray and learn what the Inka’s knew about the power of circles. We will enjoy a luxury buffet lunch on the way back and spend the afternoon doing our own powerful circle work. We will go out for dinner in town.

DAY 5 - WEDNESDAY

Today we are staying local and exploring the Inka Fortress in Ollantaytambo. We will be guided around the many features which include the Sun Temple, Condor Temple and Inka baths. Local ladies will bring our lunch to us on-site and we will stay to absorb the ancestral sponsorship as we open to San Pedro and set our intentions for tomorrows ceremony.

DAY 6 - THURSDAY

The 3 Temple vision quest with San Pedro (the sacred medicine of the Andes) in ceremony, is our main event. This option will start in a sacred cave where our shaman will prepare an offering to Pachamama. We will then travel to our hike starting point and walk to a stunning waterfall that will also receive our offering, for those who can handle a tougher hike we will ascend to an Inka dwelling on top of the mountain. The scenery is breath taking and we are likely to have the place to ourselves.
If you prefer a more gentle option without hiking, you can stay in town for an alternative San Pedro ceremony where everyone will reunite at the end of the day. We close the day with a termizcal ceremony that cleanses and heals.
San Pedro is a gentle medicine that opens your heart. This Grandfather plant invites you to bring any questions to nature where they are met with answers that bring you into wholeness and eternal connection. Helping you see and feel your deepest hearts desires.
We will eat and share our experiences around the fire.

DAY 7 - FRIDAY

We travel through the local Andean mountain range today for a deep relax in the hot springs at Lares. Time to reflect and integrate our medicine experience. Lunch will be locally prepared trout (packed lunch alternative available). We will then visit Pisac on route to Cusco. Pisac has interesting shops, silver jewellery and it’s own impressive ruins to explore.
We will have dinner in Cusco and check into our hotel.

DAY 8 - SATURDAY

This morning Sacsayhuaman is our playground, this is where the true genius of the Inka construction is witnessed on a huge scale. We will meditate and ground the direction, inspiration and personal insights we have received over the week to form choices.
The retreat will conclude with a closing ceremony at the Moon Temple.
If you have a late flight, or can fly on Sunday, or if you are continuing with the second week, we can do a bit of Alpaca clothes shopping and enjoy a farewell lunch.

To keep your trip to just 1 week and be home on Sunday, you can leave from Cusco this afternoon. Taxis will be ordered for you to the airport.

PUNO & AREQUIPA
Integration Week

Trip Duration: 6 nights (2nd Week)

The extension gives you an option of 6 more retreat days making a total of 14 nights.

Day 9 - SUNDAY

We are going to be up and out early this morning, we have a 5am pick up for the Rainbow Mountains, we stop for breakfast on route and upon arrival we have an hour and a half walk. Horses are available to hire (at cost) if walking at increased altitude is a problem (it’s high!) but you should be somewhat acclimatised by now. Next we visit the temple of Wirracocha, get a local lunch and continue to Puno (approximately 4-5 hours drive).

DAY 10 - MONDAY

After yesterday’s exertion we will relax and be healed by the beautiful still, pure blue water of Lake Titicaca, you can’t imagine the wonderful energy of this lake which hosts the sacral chakra of the planet. So we will be at the centre of creation, totally chilled out on a boat with seating inside and out. We will visit one of the floating islands of Uros, ride on their banana boat, listen about how they live and hopefully, if you feel called, support them by buying some of their craft/art work. We then have a short boat ride to get lunch before we visit Taquille island where we will have a walk around. The boat will bring us back to Puno around sunset. We will have dinner and a night time stroll.

DAY 11 - TUESDAY

Our first stop today is the Temple of Inka Uyo, a fertility temple displaying some 20 sculptures dedicated to the phallus (a large collection of stone penises). Then we will continue to the sacred rock Aramu Muru where Inka myth says human life was first created. We will stand in the door way to/from divine realms, it’s a special place to meditate and focus on our sacral chakra. The chakra that denotes our creative power and from where the energy to birth our creations is centred.

DAY 12 - WEDNESDAY

We leave for Colca Canyon this morning. We will cross the mountains stopping at a high lookout point above the Lagunillas Lagoon, we may spot some rare andean birds (e.g Ajoya - giant Andean Coot) and Andean geese. At the Pampa Cañahuas we will hopefully see herds of Vicuñas before stopping at another high pass called the volcanoes lookout. We then descend into the Colca Valley to have lunch and enjoy a Spa Hotel that is on the river and has it’s own private natural hot springs.

DAY 13 - THURSDAY

Today we go to the 4,000 ft canyon to watch condors (believed to be god’s messengers by the Incas) from one of the best view points. On the way back we will stop at some picturesque villages that have snow peak glacier back drops. We will also see Incan and pre-Incan terracing systems that cover part of the valley. We will have lunch before our bus takes us to Arequipa city.

DAY 14 - FRIDAY

The last day will be at your leisure, enjoy the hotel, enjoy the beautiful white volcanic city of Arequipa, get up when you want and eat when you want, we will stay centrally in the historic quarter so you can grab a cab cheaply to show you round, hop on a bus tour or do nothing, it’s up to you. We will meet for a farewell dinner in the evening.

saturday

Fly back to Cusco or Lima.
If your flight is at night and you would like to see Lima, enjoy a city tour, incredible sea food, maybe see a museum before you fly home and keep bags/cases stowed, this can be organised for an extra charge.
If you are flying from Cusco and have time to do some shopping before your flight you could visit San Pedro market, I can organise bag storage for you.

Accommodation

Locations - Week 1

Ollantaytambo (6 nights)

Living Inka Village of Ollantaytambo in the Sacred Valley is our base. This town is a best kept secret, tour companies bus tourists here to get the train to Machu Picchu and generally miss it’s magic. The town is watched over by Tunupa, the god of abundance, who’s face is calved into the mountain Pinkuylluna. It’s also home to a magnificent fortress with sun and condor temples, ñusta bath, miliary, prison and quarantine sections and more, a vast archelogical centre. Between this magnificent mountain features the oldest living inka village, with cobbled streets and water channels. Many live on earth floors with guinea pigs keeping warm by the wood burning oven in the kitchen. The streets and plaza burst with energy and colour twice a year for the town festivals: Reyer’s in January and Lord Choquekillka in May. Various folklore dance groups parade the plaza in amazing costumes carrying effigies between the 3 temples in the town. A town so rich in culture, tradition and history, welcome to my soul home.

This hotel has been chosen for its proximity to the square and the station. It has beautiful grounds, fire pit and heating. The glass roofed foyer also makes it warmer on those cooler mountain nights.

Cusco (2 nights)

Again chosen because of it’s central location, near the main square, near the Quoricancha temple and the Artisan market.

Locations - Week 2
(Integration Week)

The hotels this week have been picked to maximise relaxation and balance out the distances we will cover, on the final days we will enjoy some heat and spa time.

Puno (3 nights)

The hotel enjoys many amenities and is situated on the magical lake Titicaca and is also close to Amaru Muru.

Colca Canyon Spa (1 night)

This beautiful hotel overlooks the river and has 4 natural hot spring pools. From here we will visit Colca Canyon.

Arequipa Center (2nights)

Situated close to the main square in the historical old town of Arequipa.

TRIP ESSENTIALS

Prepare for your trip

This healing journey starts the moment you commit. Whether you choose to take sacred medicine or not, the Andeans believe the ancestral spirits and the Apu’s (mountain spirits) get to work to support your intention as soon as you make it. Just one of many ways the teaching in this land aligns with hermetic premises that underpin my work.

  • By choosing this trip you also choose to serve your physical form, as indicated in the itinerary, softer options are available but you will enjoy it more if you can challenge yourself a little. There are transport options available if you want to reduce the leg work. As advisable for a ski trip, it’s best to increase your stamina and strength before you arrive. Increase your walking distance, do some hill walking, swim or dance to improve your fitness and lower your heart rate.

  • Dehydration is more rapid at altitude and first occurs on the aeroplane. Water will be available but you must take personal responsibility to keep yourself hydrated and get enough sleep (especially after a long flight). Fly in with enough time to adjust.

  • It takes 3-4 days to produce more red blood cells and become more oxygen efficient. To assist your body’s adaptation you either need to increase the iron content in your diet or take a good quality supplement. I recommend Solgar Gentle Iron, 25mg. Avoid low-quality iron supplements, they are poorly absorbed and cause constipation (e.g Iron Sulphate). Extra Iron is normally a free radical for men or post-menopausal women so it’s not included in all multi-vitamin supplements. Start taking it the day you fly and continue for 3 days (no more). Menstruating women adapt more readily and often don’t menstruate (lucky right?!) when coming to Andean altitudes because their bodies will keep the iron and not let it go. So don’t immediately assume you are pregnant or sick if your period doesn’t arrive.

  • Dietary preparation is required to clean the body and prevent a nasty physical detox that is not ideal on holiday. We are intending to enjoy a wonderful heart-opening and profound connection to the time/space continuum on our journey, for sure some mental and emotional detoxing is a bonus and comes with mild purging, that’s normal.

  • Yes there are. You need to have good cardiovascular health and be free of any contra-indicative conditions such as schizophrenia, hallucinations and not be on SSRIs for mood regulation. A full list of known contra-indicative medications will be provided but you should always check with your GP if you have any health concerns or want to pause any medication to participate. FULL responsibility is assumed by YOU in this undertaking.

  • Yes, couples are very welcome, of course you understand it is a personal development journey and you will both enable this space for one-another.

  • Layers are best for mountain and lake excursions because it can be very warm during the day but cool off dramatically in the evening. You need comfortable (worn-in) walking shoes, these can be light trainers/runnies or light hiking footwear. Flip-Flop/Thongs are recommended for hot springs/Spa facilities, swim wear, sun hat or cap, sunscreen, insect repellent - mainly for Machu Picchu, rain & wind jacket/shield, plastic ponchos are available to buy here if required, your own water bottle, a small day pack/light rucksack.

  • Both International and Domestic flights will normally be required for this trip.
It is possible to fly into Cusco internationally (usually connection cities for long-haul are Bogota, Columbia and Santiago, Chile).

    * 1 Week Retreat - If you fly into Lima you need a Lima-Cusco return flight.

*2 Week Retreat - If you fly into Lima you will need a Lima - Cusco flight outbound and an Arequipa - Lima flight inbound.

**2 week Retreat - If you fly into Cusco you will need a Arequipa - Cusco flight at the end of the trip.

  • The trip is designed to help you adjust to the altitude gently but it does get higher and higher as we progress through the trip weeks and we will be covering a considerable distance. If allopathic medicine makes you feel safer bring both altitude sickness and travel sickness tablets. (These are also available to buy in Peru).

  • You will receive:

-Plant Medicine Course to fully inform you about this aspect of the trip.
    - Welcome call (1:1 chat - 20 mins)
    - Virtual Group Calls - to prepare you for the trip, go through dietary restrictions and enable some group interaction pre-trip.
    - Private WhatsApp group to share tips and ask questions

I choose heart & soul fitness
